Day 2 – Heading to Riga

Next day I cycled along the Baltic Sea down south to Riga. I departed at 7am and it was cold, roughly 5°C. I cycled to the sea and found my well know n bikeway (Eurovelo 10/13), which I followed until I came to the country road E67/B4. There was also a bikeway, which I followed until it ended and I then had to go onto the country road. After a while the sign of the EV10 pointed to a smaller road and I followed that for another 15k.

The weather was very bad, when I departed in the morning it already rained and that did not stop for more than 4 hours. The headwind did get stonger and stronger and I could not do more than 20k per hour. But hey, since I decided to only go to Hamburg I did not care much and I continued my trip…

Niklas is traveling through Europe since May, if I remember correctly and he is on his way down south to Vienna.

You can follow Niklas here.

We cycled a bit together and after one hour or so we said good bye. He had other plans for the day and I had to reach Riga before the shops are closing. .

I wanted to get to Riga to go to a Decathlon, to buy me new hoses and other spare parts which I needed to be on the safe side. When I had done that, I bought me some food and cycled to my hotel. This was in the city center, and I was allowed to take my bike into my room, which was good since I had not to unpack the bike.
