On Oktober 19th I started my journey in Tallinn and after taking pictures at the sea, I left the city. Getting out of the Tallinn took me almost an hour.
Sadly I had my first punkture after 15k and the seal milk did not fix it. Thus I had to install a hose, which fixed the problem. Seal milk is really a big mess when you have to install a hose 🙁 Anyway, it worked and after half an hour or so I continued to cycle down south.
The wether was super, but it was very cold. The sky was blue and there was almost no wind, if this would be the condition for the whole trip, that would have been perfect.
After 70k I had again a puncture and again at the rear wheel. I had no other hose, but I had patches and thought that I could repear the wheel. I tried it three times, but due to the seal milk it did not work. I was so upset that I packed myself. My new plan was to go the nearest train station to travel back to Tallinn, to stay there for two days and to travel back to Hamburg by Flixbus.

One need to know that my original plan was another one: I planned to go in August from Tallinn to Gibraltar and that in 25 to 35 days. I had enough holidays left and would have bought more if needed, the temperature would have been okay and the daylight also good to cycle for 12 hours or more. But due to various reasons I only could start in October. And when I departed by bus, I told my girl friend that I am not in the mood to do such a tour, I was totaly demotivated due to the weather, the darkness, autumn. So the dnf was okay for me and I was almost happy to go back by buser dann…
When I was almost ready, another bikepacker came along, asked about my problem and gave me a new hose. We installed that and I installed the spare tyre, which finally lasted to Hamburg.
So I could continue and a DNF was no option anymore.
The region up there was very nice, flat, little forests and a few houses.
After 154k I arrived at Pärnu, a little town at the baltic sea and checked in. I booked the hotel at lunchtime and it was a nice little hotel and the stay did only cost 38€. Schnäppchen.
